Windows Defender configuration settings

Since Huntress can configure scans and exclusions and such, it would be very beneficial if it went the extra mile to allow more granular configuration of Windows Defender. There is an open source tool at https://github.com/AndyFul/ConfigureDefender that does an EXCELLENT job of improving Defender's ability to block threats. If similar functionality were built into Huntress it would save a lot of scripting.

Hey Mark!
Huntress already has a feature like this built in. Check out https://huntress.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/4404012729747
When we survey your machine, we get back over 60 defender settings. Here's an example of just a few we get back!
We do plan to provide configuration of a variety of Defender settings. The Huntress defaults will even include some of those settings as a better baseline for security practices.

Tim Kasper: Where's SmartScreen settings? Where's Exploit Guard ASR settings? Where's Controlled Folder Access settings?

Mark Leinhos: Hey Mark, Dave from the R&D Huntress team here. We do have plans to expand the settings we're able to manage beyond just the ones surrounding Defender. (System hardening as a whole is in our long term plans.) The good news is the management framework we built for Defender, does allow us to modify these other settings as well. Right now, our focus is on maturing the Managed Defender side of things before expanding, but stay tuned for these improvements. ASR is definitely one on our list for sure! Thanks for the interest.
