Choose users to protect with ITDR within M365 tenants

We need the ability to choose which users within an M365 tenant are protected with ITDR. We know in a perfect world that it is tenant wide, but we have customers that don't want to pay to protect every user, only the 'important' ones. Please give us the ability to do so, as these customers have now chosen to be removed from ITDR completely.

Agree with this request, and with all the comments. While in agreement that all clients should protect ALL users in the ideal world, some cant and the charities are good examples where they have many more Microsoft donation basic accounts for volunteers cant afford to but want the extra protection for main users. We can of course advise them to cover all, but having the option to get them onboard would be good. We can always try to upgrade them to all users in the future.

From one side, we have clients who ask for it, but I’m actually very happy that we’re not able to offer it, since most clients choose to have everyone protected. The damage that can be done to a domain is irreversible, even if it isn’t an important user.

While I don’t agree with it, unfortunately so many of our customers ask for this and having it be an option would be ideal. Thank you!

We are in exactly the same boat. We have two clients that have about 18-20 HQ users and the rest are field personnel. It would be way too expensive to cover all those users with Huntress ITDR. We are at least getting them protected with Avanan, but would like to have Huntress in addition.

We had to use Avanan for BEC protection for this very reason. I have a non-profit with 18 staff and 200+ volunteers, and they can't afford to cover the 200+ low-use volunteer accounts, so we are able to provision Avanan to cover a security group of those 18 high-value accounts to protect from BEC. (If you deduced that a BEC inspired this activity at the non-profit, you'd be correct.)

Jeff Knapp exactly my scenario.
